The Rock of Gibraltar and the Costa Del Sol
Our tour is based on the beautiful coast of the Costa Del Sol in a central hotel which means all destinations included in this itinerary are within easy reach. Taking in Cordoba where you will experience one of the most spectacular and unusual buildings in the world: “La Mezquita” is a spectacular 1000 year-old Moorish mosque which has a Christian cathedral built within.

Day 1
Fly to Malaga.
Fly directly from your chosen airport to Malaga where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel for a 7 night stay on a half board basis.
Day 2
Cordoba.
We travel to Cordoba, which was once the largest city in Europe and in 2006 was awarded the prestigious title of Cultural Capital of the Americas. Our tour with the local guide starts in the historical centre, which is incredibly well preserved, and where the streets retain the ancient serpentine structure. We visit the 1000 year old mosque, which is second largest in the world and also has a 500 year old cathedral within it.
Day 3
Gibraltar – The Historical Rock.
Naturally, the main sight is the awesome rock, a vast limestone ridge which rises to 426m, with sheer cliffs on its northern and eastern sides. You’ll have the opportunity to admire the wonderful views from the top of “The Rock” as well as take the famous Main Street for duty free shopping. Europe’s only colony of apes live here and they are very tame and somewhat of local attraction. St Michael’s Cave and the historical defence tunnels are also worth a visit. The Rock has been British for over 300 years and elements of Britishness can be seen throughout the area.
Day 4
Axarquia.
Travel east of Malaga into the beautiful mountain area of La Axarquia, which was inhabited by the Moors until 400 year ago. We’ll visit one of the many olive mills in this area followed by a traditional home cooked Andalucian meal with wine, which is cooked by the local families. This is an extraordinary chance to meet the hospitable local people and for many, this meal is a highlight of the trip.
Day 5
At Leisure.
Time at leisure or take an optional excursion to Malaga, Sevilla or Granada
Day 6
Ronda.
Probably most known for its impressive 18th century bridge, which spans a 100 metre deep gorge, which divides the old and new quarters of the town. Many Spanish and international writers have praised this romantic and historic town set in beautiful surroundings. In Ronda we also find the world’s oldest bullring which dates back to 1785.
Day 7
At Leisure.
Spend your free day relaxing, shopping or take a further optional excursion.
Day 8
Departure and inbound flight to the UK.
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
