An Irish Crystal Christmas
Recently our B2B Sales Manager, Gina, travelled over to Southern Ireland to visit the Waterford Winterval, an annual Festive event now in its 5th year. Greatdays featured a NEW tour to this event in their 2016 programme and will be doing so again in 2017. Staying at the stunning Granville Hotel on Waterford’s river front, it was only a short walk to discover all the events and attractions taking place in the city. From Horse & Sleigh rides to Christmas Tree Festivals, from illumination shows to traditional Christmas market stalls there was much to see and do.
There is a big calendar of events taking place from the end of November through to Christmas and attracts thousands of visitors each year. There is the chance to have a guided tour of the famous Waterford Crystal, taste the local beer, Clonmel, and shop till you drop! Whilst in the area, it is recommended that an excursion is made to the nearby Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience in New Ross to learn about the history surrounding the potato famine emigration from Ireland to USA and the association with J.F. Kennedy.
