On this East Devon tour we bring together many of east Devon’s top attractions with visits to Sidmouth, a cruise on the River Exe, a steam-hauled ride on the South Devon Railway, a trip on the narrow gauge Seaton Tramway, and visits to Powderham Castle and Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. We also pay a visit to The Donkey Sanctuary, part of the world’s largest equine charity and home to an array of delightful furry residents.

Day 1
Travel to your hotel
Travel to the Exeter area, and check into your hotel.
Time to relax before dinner is served, maybe take a walk around this lovely Devon town.
Day 2
Seaton Tramway, The Donkey Sanctuary and Sidmouth
We take a leisurely drive along the coast to the seaside town of Seaton for a return journey on the delightful narrow gauge Seaton Tramway. Next we visit The Donkey Sanctuary, a delightful attraction where visitors can learn more about the charity through talk and interactive displays, grab a delicious bite to eat or a warm drink at The Kitchen and of course meet the furry residents. We then travel the short distance to the regency town of Sidmouth.
Day 3
Cruise on the River Exe and Bicton Park Botanical Gardens
Today we take a relaxing cruise along the River Exe from Exmouth. We then travel to the privately owned Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. Spanning nearly 300 years of horticultural history, these superbly landscaped Grade 1 listed gardens are set in the picturesque Otter Valley. A shell house, countryside museum, church, Palm House, and Orangery add to the uniqueness of this popular attraction.
Day 4
Steam train and Powderham Castle
A delight is in store today with a steam train ride on the South Devon Railway alongside the picturesque River Dart.In the afternoon we return to the Exe estuary to visit Powderham Castle, a fortified manor house enjoying a unique, picturesque setting within an ancient deer park. A private guided tour will reveal the 600 years of history of one of Devon’s oldest family homes, now the home of the Earl and Countess of Devon.
