Away at the CTA!
Martin and Katharine attended the CTA Conference in Bournemouth, where we we’re inspired by conference speaker Geoff Ramm and enjoyed catching up with our travel industry colleagues. We stayed on the not-so-sunny south coast and travelled to the picturesque seaside resorts of Poole and Weymouth to inspect some of our hotels – sadly the fog scuppered our view from the impressive Heights Hotel at Portland.
On our way ‘back up north’ we called in at Salisbury where Marie and Hannah were kind enough to show us around the awe-inspiring Cathedral, home of the Magna Carta. Other treasures there include the oldest working clock in existence, the dippy stick used to measure the water level under the Cathedral, and the bumping stone which is used to initiate new choir boys (and kindly tested by Martin)! We also visited The Salisbury Museum which boast Salisbury inspired works by Constable and Turner.
