Day 1
Travel to your hotel via Robinsons Brewery
Enjoy a fascinating tour followed by a tasting of three 1/3 pint samples of our beers. They have been brewing beer since 1838 and the tour allows visitors to see the old combined with the new as you discover the brewing process. This is a working brewery and has a lot of steep steps – it is not suitable for guests with limited mobility
If the Brewery tour isn’t your cup of tea (or pint of beer), why not swop this attraction for The Plaza, a 1932 Art Deco theatre and cafe. Here you will receive a guided tour and then be treated to lunch of sandwiches and scones (supplement applies), Monday to Saturday only – subject to availability.
Day 2
Stockport
Today we head to Stockport for an action packed day. In the morning we visit the Hat Works, a recreated hat factory and museum with machinery dating back to Victorian days. See the remarkable collection of more than 400 hats from around the world.
In the afternoon we visit the Staircase House, Stockport’s oldest town house and discover how our ancestors lived from the 15th to 20th centuries. Finally, at Stockport’s famous Air Raid Shelters, wander along the original tunnels, authentically re-equipped, to learn about daily life in 1940s wartime Britain.
Day 3
Return home via Bramhall Hall
After breakfast begin your journey home, calling in at Bramall Hall en route. Bramhall Hall is one of England’s most striking black and white timber-framed buildings. The Hall offers unique insights into the families and servants who lived and worked here. Spend time exploring the recently refurbished hall (including The Great Hall, Banqueting Room, Chapel, Servants Quarters, and Victorian Kitchen), wander through the pretty gardens, and perhaps enjoy a homemade cake in The Stables Kitchen.
