Eat like a King on board KING SEAWAYS!
Martin Slater, National Sales Manager recently joined a group of fellow trade colleagues on an educational trip arranged by DFDS from Newcastle to Amsterdam travelling overnight on board King Seaways, enabling me to see at first hand the excellent facilities this overnight crossing has to offer. There is certainly no shortage of places to eat and I found the 7 Seas buffet restaurant in particular excellent, the presentation of the food alone is worth a look! But I very much doubt anyone would be able to resist it. There is also good entertainment aboard, or alternatively some more relaxing bar areas to retire to and a large shopping area. There is a range of comfortable cabins on board to suit all budgets. On arrival we were transferred to Keukenhof Gardens, before moving onto Amsterdam for some free time. Transfers from the ferry terminal IJmuiden to Keukenhof take around 40 minutes, the same from central Amsterdam.
If you reside in Cumbria, North Yorkshire, the North East or Scotland this is the ideal route to consider as your entry into Europe, arriving refreshed in the morning. Depending on your final destination this can quite often save you having a further overnight stop and takes the strain away from running into traffic enroute to Dover. DFDS also operate similar mini-cruises.
