Kent Life
Already well known for its beautiful gardens, Kent has become a renowned producer of fine English wines, spirits and ales, and groups can now add vineyard, distillery and brewery tours to their trip itineraries. Katharine and Sarah from our UK team decided to investigate further. We battled through the snow to Copper Rivet distillery, located on Chatham Docks and one of a handful of UK distilleries who produce each and every stage of their spirit. Another highlight was Shepherd Neame, a speciality brewer, where we received an informative tour followed by a tasting of their signature ‘Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager’…delicious. We visited Chapel Down and Hush Heath wineries. Their unique location and micro-climates help them to produce award-winning wine to rival those from Champagne.
Other Kent highlights included a guided tour of Bluewater shopping centre, meeting Harry the baby bunny at Kent Life, and marvelling at the iconic White Cliffs of Dover and Canterbury Cathedral. We teamed this with visits to group favourites Chatham Historic Dockyards and Leeds Castle.
Keep your eyes peeled for our new Kent Grape and Grain tour to follow. In the meantime check out our classic Kent tours.
