Stunning Stockholm
Explore Stunning Stockholm – A True Scandinavian Gem!
Stockholm emanates waterside elegance. Considered the ‘The Pearl of the Baltic’, Sweden’s capital has a beautiful and well preserved historic heart surrounded by water. Built on 14 islands, the beautiful buildings, greenery, fresh air and proximity to the water are distinctive traits of this city. During your stay, explore the beautiful Gamla Stan, the Old Town, which is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centres in Europe. Palaces and cathedrals loom over narrow streets of cobblestones.
Despite this charming old core, the city is continually evolving. There are plenty of exciting attractions from the Royal Palace – the official residence of His Majesty the King of Sweden – to the magnificent, ornate Vasa warship. There’s even a delightful ABBA museum. The architecture, art, culture and Now-Nordic gourmet cuisine on offer is truly outstanding. Though it spans several islands, Stockholm is surprisingly compact and easy to navigate. Bridges (both foot and vehicle-traffic) connect most of the islands; ferries and the tunnelbana (metro) link the rest. Therefore, you can explore all the nooks and crannies of this wonderful destination. Perhaps cruise around the archipelago for amazing views of the waterside or venture out to Sigtuna to see rune stones.
