Day 1
Travel to Scotland
If you’re travelling a distance, ask about overnight stops.
Day 2
Forest Safari and Red Deer Centre
Today you venture into the hills today on our Forest Safari in Aberfeldy. You will transfer to four-wheel-drive vehicles (carrying approximately six people in each) for a one and a half hour journey, travelling through forests, mountains and moors on private hill tracks with spectacular views at every turn. This is a great opportunity to engage with the wonders of the natural environment and experience the excitement of a 4WD safari. During this Safari your Safari Ranger will also lead you on a short walk into an ancient Caledonian Pine Forest set at 1600′ as you search for signs of elusive Scottish wildlife such as Red Squirrel, Roe Deer and Red Deer. Following the Forest Safari, your group will then visit the Red Deer Centre where you can get up close and personal with Britain’s largest native land mammal, as well as encountering their tame Barn Owl in a hands on demonstration.
The Forest Safari can accommodate groups of up to 29 per time slot. For larger groups they will be split, and half do the Red Deer Centre and half do the Forest Safari and then they swap over.
Day 3
Blair Athol Distillery and Blair Castle
This morning, we head to the Blair Athol Distillery for a guided tour of the distillery with a tutored tasting. Blair Athol Distillery stands at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands in the picturesque town of Pitlochry. From the water of the Allt Dour burn comes a whisky with a mellow deep-toned aroma, a strong fruity flavour and a smooth finish – an irreplaceable contributor to the Bell’s Blend, one of the most popular blended whiskies in the UK. In the afternoon, we travel through the Pass of Killiecrankie, an impressive wooded gorge, to Blair Castle, the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. We can arrange lunch at the castle before returning to Pitlochry for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 4
Highland Folk Museum and Pitlochry
In the morning we travel to the Highland Folk Museum, a one mile long, 80-acre site, with live actors and restored buildings that help bring Highland history to life. Return to Pitlochry for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 5
