Denver, known as the Mile High City, is a city on the rise. Thanks to a re-urbanisation of the city’s central core. There’s a buzz about this city like never before. During your stay, take the chance to explore the emerging street art, jazzy cocktail bars and great brewpubs. Perhaps, visit the world famous Coors Brewery. The world’s largest brewing site, which still uses the same Rocky Mountain spring water it did back in 1873.

While this city’s continuously evolving cultural scene alone is worth the visit. It is complimented by the spectacular natural beauty surrounding the city. The Rocky Mountains are home to an array of wildlife and incredible scenery. Be swept away by the beautiful vistas and experience the wonders that inspired early explorers to push for the protection of this amazing landscape. Echo Lake’s tranquil waters, and indeed this special landscape, radiate a sense of calm – a wonderful and unusual addition to a city break! Additionally, visit some of Colorado’s historic mining towns and allow yourself to be treated to stories of local legends, which were a part of this area’s unique history.

Day 1

Welcome to Denver

Arrive in Denver and transfer from the airport to your hotel. If time permits, why not check out some of Denver’s most peaceful and tranquil locations to combat the jet lag. We’d recommend the Denver Botanic Gardens, a 23-acre oasis in the middle of the city. However, if you are ready to get your tour off to a more lively start, head to the LoDo (Lower Downtown) historic district to explore some of the 90 brewpubs, sports bars, restaurants and rooftop cafes.

Day 2

Explore Denver and the Coors Brewery

Spend today getting to know Mile High City. See Denver’s top attractions, including Larimer Square, the State Capitol and the Denver Art Museum. Admire Denver’s financial centre and the lively 16th Street Mall. Be sure to take in as much as you can and perhaps enjoy a guided tour to enjoy an expert’s insightful knowledge about Denver’s history and landmarks.

Afterwards, why not “Taste the Rockies” at the Coors Brewery, the world’s largest brewing site? It is known to still use the same Rocky Mountain spring water that Adolph Coors discovered in 1873. Guided tours show every step in the brewing process, and end with free samples for those over 21.

Day 3

The Rockies, Jazz and Whiskey

Today is your chance to discover the incredible Rocky Mountains National Park, home to an array wildlife and incredible scenery. Perhaps begin your tour with a scenic drive to Estes Park which includes charming small towns and rugged canyons. Here, pass the historic Stanley Hotel, made famous for its starring role in the movie ‘The Shining.’ Enter the National Park and experience the wondrous scenery which inspired early explorers to campaign the park’s protection. Catch a view of Long’s Peak, the parks highest mountain which soars 14,259 feet into the sky, and the glacial-carved valleys filled with Aspen and pine trees.

Perhaps in the evening, you’d like to step back in time to Prohibition-era Denver on a tour that combines the Mile High City’s stiffest drinks and legendary jazz history. Kick things off with a tour and tastings of real Rocky Mountain whiskey at a local distillery, and stroll through the trendy nightlife district of LoDo to discover the site of former speakeasies, brothels and other boozy haunts of the 1930s. Cap off the night with live music at legendary dive bar and jazz club El Chapultepec.

Day 4

Scenic Mt. Evan Tour

On this trip why not explore some more of Colorado’s natural beauty, with a scenic tour of Mt. Evans. This tour includes a visit to one of the best outdoor music venues on earth, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where music has echoed off the sandstone cliffs for decades. Furthermore, you will be driven through Morrison on your way up into Bear Creek Canyon and watch the landscape change as you head up into the mountains. Take in sweeping vistas and the clear waters of Echo Lake, as you continue along on your journey. Continue through some historic mining towns and hear stories of local legends that were a part of Colorado’s unique history. Along the way, keep an eye out for bison and bighorn sheep and in the summer months you will be able to reach the summit of Mt Evans which is above 14,000ft.

Day 5

Departure

The time has come to depart from Denver to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
