‘Prepare for Battle’, 700 years after the famous Scots victory in 1314 a new visitor experience opened at Bannockburn in 2014 to celebrate the great victory against the English. Add to this stunning Stirling with its majestic castle and views over the Forth Valley, a visit to the burial place of Robert the Bruce at Dunfermline Abbey and beautiful Scone Palace, this will be a memorable tour.

Day 1

Travel to your hotel

En-route to your hotel enjoy a stop at Dumfries the home of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, before continuing onward to your hotel in the Stirling area, arriving with time to relax before dinner.

Day 2

Stirling and Bannockburn

In the morning, travel the short distance to Stirling for a visit to the Castle before continuing onto the Battle of Bannockburn Experience. This attraction has state of the art 3D technology and will bring you face-to-face with medieval battle in a way never experienced before. Explore the external battlefield landscape with the iconic bronze statue of King Robert the Bruce and listen to first-hand accounts of the battle from combatants and bystanders in the interactive 3D gallery. Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 3

Dunfermline Abbey and Scone Palace

Today, travel east to Dunfermline Abbey and the burial place of Robert the Bruce and then onwards to Scone Palace, the crowning place of the Scottish Kings. Travel onto Perth for a free afternoon, before returning to your hotel with time to relax before dinner.

Day 4

Return home

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in your hotel before starting your journey home. A stop at the border town of Melrose with its magnificent Abbey, believed to be the final resting place of Robert the Bruce’s heart, will round off this unforgettable tour.

Situated just a short drive from Glasgow City Centre, this stylish hotel is set in picturesque natural surroundings. After a busy day Flemings Restaurant invites guests to enjoy some delicious food and the lounge is the perfect place for refreshments. Leisure facilities include a gym, indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, golf course and spa. Only 40 minutes from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, this hotel is set in ten acres of private grounds overlooking the village of Dunblane. The hotel’s restaurant specializes in seasonal local produce and stunning, simple dishes and there is also a bar and lounge. Go for a swim in the indoor pool, work-out in the fitness room and relax in the sauna, steam room and whirlpool. The spacious and comfortable bedrooms are with en-suite bathrooms and feature LCD TV, hairdryer, iron, safe and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has rooms adapted for disabled use and coach parking is available on-site.

Golden Lion Hotel, Stirling ***

Located in Stirling City Centre just down the hill from Stirling Castle, this hotel is the perfect base to explore the area. There are many shops, bars and restaurant on its doorstep, however you don’t have to leave the hotel for fine dining as there is the Cronies Restaurant and bar. Relax in one of the comfortable bedrooms which feature private bathrooms, flat-screen satellite TV and tea and coffee making facilities. This hotel has a lift to all floors. The coach parking is ten minutes’ walk away at Stirling Castle.
