Longleat Experience
National Sales Manager, Martin Slater, recently met up with Sally Jenkins – Business Development Travel Trade, who arranged a personal guided tour of this wonderful venue. As we feature this attraction in our Longleat and Wiltshire Highlights tour (page 123 in our 2016 Group Travel Guide), I felt it important to witness at first-hand what it had to offer.
The Safari Park is as good as any I have ever visited, as too are the gardens and surrounding area. However the jewel in the crown has to be the ‘House’, which is truly an amazing example of Elizabethan architecture and packed with priceless antiques. It is also famous for its ceilings and of course the home to the 7th Marquess of Bath, who if you are lucky, can still be seen!
Did you know that for a small supplement you can also do a ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour which takes you to the ‘Royal Apartments’ and if you are brave enough you can climb the 100 steps for a tour of the roof, which gives you some magnificent views on a bright clear day.
