Travel Consultant for UK Groups and Events
Job description
Greatdays Travel Group is a leading, family run ‘group travel’ tour operator, incentive and events company based in Altrincham, Cheshire and has been established for 40 years. We are seeking a UK and Ireland Group Travel Consultant to join our team at our offices in Altrincham, South Manchester.
You will be an enthusiastic person with a genuine passion and interest for travel and sightseeing in the UK. The role involves creating group tour itineraries plus development of our range of customised UK tour programmes for groups. You will be good at building relationships and will be contracting special rates with 3 and 4 star hotels, guides, restaurant attractions and transport companies. You must possess a full UK driving license which is essential for the role and must have good mathematics and English skills.
This is a full time role Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5.30pm with occasional FAM / destination inspection trips.

Are you the right person for the role?
- A genuine passion for UK travel, culture and sightseeing
- Good general knowledge of the UK and Irish cities and regions
- Travel trade experience is required
- Positive attitude
- Confident driver with a full clean UK driving license
- Friendly telephone manner and good all round communicator
- Good IT skills
- Minimum A or B grade GCSE in both English and Mathematics
- Reside in South Manchester or Cheshire
What will my role look like?
- Creation and design of tour itineraries for groups.
- Co-ordination of hotel, guide and attraction bookings
- Booking of flights, trains and coach travel for groups
- Costing of tour itineraries
- Updating website content
- Building relationships with suppliers and customers
- Occasional FAM / destination inspection trips
- Quality testing products, hotels, attractions, food and drink
- Attend travel trade workshops, conferences and exhibitions
