Take in the sights of the dramatic Causeway Coast

Visit the historic city of Derry/Londonderry, where you can walk the 17th century walls, visit the city’s numerous museums or stroll around the many and varied shops. Just over the border into the Republic of Ireland is the historic town of Donegal with its 17th century castle.

Day 1

Depart the UK

Arrive in Derry and check into your hotel.

Day 2

The Causeway Coast, Giant’s Causeway and Bushmills

Today, travel along the scenic Causeway Coast. Take in the incredible views from the headlands to the Giant’s Causeway which was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. Take a walk around some of the 40,000 interlocking hexagonal columns, some up to 12m high, and learn about the giant Finn McCool, who, according to legend, built and lived in the causeway. Other local attractions include the Bushmills Distillery, home of the famous Whiskey, and the Giant’s Causeway and Bushmills Railway.

Day 3

Derry and the Ulster American Folk Park

Enjoy a guided walking tour of the 17th century City Walls and St. Columb’s Cathedral.  Afterwards visit the city’s many fascinating museums, see the neogothic Guildhall, wander across the peace bridge and explore the city’s array of arts and culture. In the afternoon, visit the Ulster American Folk Park – one of the finest open-air museums in Europe, and retrace the steps of the millions of emigrants who made the treacherous journey across the Atlantic in search of a new life in America.

Day 4

Donegal

Enjoy a free day to explore the bustling town of  Donegal, including Donegal Castle and the Craft Village, or take a boat trip around Donegal Bay and its islands.

Day 5

Return to the UK

After breakfast start your journey home.
