Experience the magical atmosphere of the Waterford Winterval on the build up to Christmas. Meander around the Christmas markets with a hot drink, marvel at the wonderful carol singers or get active on the ice rink! Either way, there are ample festive activities taking place around Ireland’s oldest City, some activities paid locally and others completely free. Why not experience a new side of Christmas at the Waterford Winterval?

Day 1

Depart the UK

Depart your local area and travel to either Holyhead, Pembroke or Fishguard. Cross the Irish sea to either Dublin or Rosslare.

Day 2

Waterford sightseeing, Waterford Crystal & Winterval Festival

Today, after breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring in Waterford. Firstly your guide will meet you for a walking tour of this historic city (weather permitting). Then enjoy a tour of Waterford’s arguably most famous export; Waterford Crystal. See the Crystal Cutters at work and wander around the huge gift shop afterwards and perhaps purchase yourself a memory! In the afternoon, wander around the Winterval festival where you will have the opportunity to visit the Waterford Christmas Markets, see the penguins at Bishops Palace, enjoy a magnificent light show, and coo at the live animal crib, amongst various other attractions*. Afterwards return to your hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 3

Winterval Activities at your leisure

After breakfast, enjoy some more Winterval themed activities. Local payable activities include enjoying a ride on Santa’s horse drawn sleigh, the winter train, ice skating and the fair. Other free activities include Christmas carols and perhaps even a Christmas film*. Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 4

Return to the UK

After a hearty Irish Breakfast return back to either Rosslare or Dublin port to commence your journey home via ferry.
