Northern Ireland’s Spectacular Causeway Coast & Belfast

Begin your Ulster adventure by enjoying a relaxing, yet scintillating four night stay in Belfast, birthplace of the Titanic. Experience a thrilling ride through Titanic’s construction in the shipyards and re-live the splendour of the ship all during your time at the Titanic Belfast. However, this city is not just about the Titanic, it is a city full of hidden wonders. Take this opportunity to explore the sights including Crumlin Road Gaol. As well as this, you will get the chance to venture to one of Northern Ireland’s gems: the magical medieval city of Derry. You are also an easy drive away from the spectacular Causeway Coast, a World Heritage Site and an unforgettable experience. Then finally, there is even time to enjoy a tipple at The Bushmill’s Distillery.

Suggested itinerary by coach

Day 1

Depart the UK

Take the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin (Cairnryan to Belfast available on request). Once you arrive at the Irish ferry port, make the journey on your coach to our Belfast based hotel. The drive from Dublin port to Belfast is approximatley 1 hour 40 minutes. Arrive at your hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2

Titanic Belfast and Crumlin Road Goal

After breakfast, you have a full day to explore Belfast. Over one hundred years on from the launch of the world’s most famous ship, you could experience the amazing Titanic story in the city of her birth – Belfast. Experience a thrilling ride through Titanic’s construction in the shipyards, re-live the drama of her sinking and visit her wreck on the ocean floor all during your time at the Titanic Belfast Centre. In the afternoon, we visit to Crumlin Road Gaol. Here you will enjoy an educational guided tour of the Gaol which housed well known IRA members among other criminals from 1845, right up until the gates were closed one final time as a working prison in 1996. After a fun day, return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 3

City of Derry

After an enjoyable Irish breakfast, visit the enchanting city of Derry and learn the fascinating history behind the 2013 UK City of Culture and setting of the popular TV show ‘Derry Girls’. First we embark on a walking tour. The specialised local tour leader will take you on an educational and emotional journey above and beyond Derry’s historical City walls. Afterwards spend free time within this historical City. Be sure to visit Guildhall; home to the City Council’s chamber and Mayor’s Parlour (guided tour optional). You could also wander over the Peace Bridge, built over the River Foyle to unite the City.

Day 4

Giants Causeway, Portrush and Bushmills Distillery

After an Irish breakfast, take in the beautiful scenery en route to the Giants Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at the 40,000 interlocking hexagonal columns, standing up to 12 metres high. Learn the exciting tale of Finn McCool and discover the on-site exhibition centre. Next we take the behind the scenes tour of the world famous Bushmill’s Distillery and taste one of whiskey’s. Afterwards, travel along the coast to the picturesque harbour town of Portrush. Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 5

Return home

After a hearty Irish breakfast sadly we say goodbye to Belfast and cross the Irish Sea via Dublin to Holyhead (Belfast to Cairnryan route available on request).
