Day 2

A Ride on the Bluebell Railway and a Visit to Sheffield Park and Garden

This morning we take a ride on the scenic steam-hauled Bluebell Railway. The 11-mile line was the UK’s first preserved standard gauge railway, with the first section opening in 1960. There are more than 30 steam locomotives and a collection of almost 150 carriages and wagons, most of them pre-war. In the afternoon we visit the National Trust’s Sheffield Park and Garden, a 120-acre listed garden laid out in the 18th century.

Day 3

Brighton, the Royal Pavilion and the British Airways i360

A full day to explore Brighton’s many attractions. Stroll through the vibrant North Laine, full of independent shops selling anything and everything. The Royal Pavilion was built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV, mixing Regency grandeur with the visual style of India and China. ‘The Lanes’ are Brighton’s famous twisting alleyways full of jewellers, antiques and designer boutiques. Brighton Pier brings back days of yesteryear with arcade games, a funfair and the ubiquitous fish ‘n’ chips.

Then when you’ve seen all there is on the ground, why not take a flight with the British Airways i360? Opened in 2016 the attraction takes visitors 135 metres into the air for spectacular panoramic views of the city, the sea and the countryside. (Additional charges apply.)

Day 4
