Austrian Adventures
Pete and Joe from our European Operations department recently went on a FAM trip to Austria to discover the best hotels and attractions that the country has to offer. They had a great time and were treated to sunny weather too!
They flew to Munich on 30th July for 5 days. Everyday, Pete and Joe visited a number of hotels to learn more about them, forge greater links and experience them first hand in order to give expert advice to our clients. Apart from viewing hotels, Pete and Joe visited the beautiful lakeside towns of St Wolfgang im Salzkammergut and Hallstatt. There they explored the streets, admired the traditional architecture and took in the amazing views. They also took a funicular railway to the 7000 year-old salt mines near to Hallstatt and were amazed by the stunning views across the lake from the viewing platform. In the salt mine learn about its history and even enter by going down a slide!
Pete and Joe were amazed by the Grossglockner Pass, a long and winding road through the awe inspiring High Tauern mountain range and the highest surfaced mountain pass road in Austria. They also enjoyed lake cruises on the Zellersee and Achensee with breathtaking mountain views and would highly recommend the cruises to clients.
Another interesting attraction was Swarovski Crystal World where there was a special exhibition by Indian designer Manish Arora. The installations aim to transport the guests into a fantasy world of vivid flowers, birds, animals and exotic landscapes.
They were also treated to a magnificent view over Innsbruck from the top of the Bergisel Ski Jump, a former Winter Olympics venue.
Pete and Joe really enjoyed their FAM trip to Austria and would thoroughly recommend many of the country’s attractions and hotels.
