Channel Island Hopping
Katharine from UK Product and Marina from Incoming went on a whirlwind week away in the Channel Islands. First stop was Guernsey where the fog nearly scuppered our arrival, however we landed in time to visit the stylish Duke of Richmond and historic Old Government House, both part of luxury hotel chain Red Carnation. We were also treated to a tour of the island by accredited guide Vivienne who filled us in on the Guernsey’s unique history, and we met some famous residents…the Guernsey cow! We visited many attractions including Sausmarex Manor, the Shipwreck Museum, Guernsey Pearl and Hautville House, Victor Hugo’s eccentric home whilst he was in exile from France.
Next stop was Jersey, where we saw an array of hotels, from the group friendly such as The Mayfair and Merton hotels, to the ultra-luxurious St. Brelade’s Bay Hotel and The Atlantic. Other hotel highlights included the Dolan hotels whose 3 properties offer an array of choice to Jersey visitors. We also took an educational and touching journey through the five years of German occupation at Jersey War Tunnels, and sampled some of the local wine at La Mere Wine Estate.
