Donegal, Sligo and Derry
Lisa, our UK & Ireland Operations Manager, and Amy, our Irish Product Specialist, have recently returned from another trip to the Emerald Isle where they visited one of the most untouched destinations in Ireland – Donegal, Sligo and Derry.
Their aim was to visit as many hotels and attractions as possible over the course of 4 days, and also to see why we should be sending people to this lovely part of the Irish Countryside.
Lisa & Amy enjoyed a variety of excursions including the Belleek pottery factory tour, Glenveagh Castle & Gardens, a visit to the famous Poet Yeats’ grave, The Old Lifford Courthouse, and also to Derrys Tower Museum.
Several hotels were also inspected, many of which we already feature in our tours together with some new ones. Their route took in Sligo, Donegal, Glenveagh and Londonderry/Derry.
The must see areas on this tour had to be the stunning scenery at Glenveagh National Park, topped by a fascinating tour of the Castle. The educational yet humorous walking tour of Derry’s walls brought stories of history to life by a local guide. The guide cleverly intertwined humour and emotion for an altogether fascinating tour. For something different, the Old Lifford Courthouse was a great experience. Lisa & Amy were able to live a summarised life of prisoner, including some schooling and entrapment in the stocks!
