Exploring Birmingham
Katharine, Jenny and Sarah from the UK department headed to Birmingham to see what the UK’s second largest city could offer to groups. First port of call was Sherborne Wharf to check out the canal cruise. We then met Alternative Tours at Shababs restaurant. Here we learnt the story behind Balti curry, watch a cooking demo and taste the results. At the Coffin Works we experienced how this old Jewellery Quarter firm once operated on a day-to-day basis, producing some of the world’s finest coffin furniture. Our last port of call was the former home of Robert Peel, who founded the police force. Now Brook Marston Farm hotel, ideal for groups wanting to explore Birmingham but stay in a rural location. For groups who like to be in the centre of the action we recommend the ideally situated Jury’s Inn Birmingham.
