Going Dutch in Amsterdam

Paul, Libby, Britta & Pete last week enjoyed a few days visiting hotels and spending perhaps too long tasting beers in Amsterdam, an ever-popular destination for British groups. While in the city, they visited the Gassan Diamond factory for a demonstration of the polishing process and the chance to see some beautiful gems up close, before going on to visit one of Amsterdam’s best-hidden metaphorical gems; Our Lord in the Attic Church. This house (literally) of worship is concealed in the top three floors of a canalside residential block. A relic of the 17^th Century, when Catholics could not worship openly, the unique attraction is well worth a visit. Before learning about (and savouring the result of) the beer-brewing process at the Heineken Experience, the group then enjoyed a cruise along Amsterdam’s beautiful waterways, a wonderful way for groups to take in the city’s architecture.

Outside Amsterdam

Not content with staying in the city, our four explorers ventured to Volendam, a Dutch fishing village with welcoming hotels and traditional cheese farms, where groups can greet the cows and taste delicious Gouda varieties. To finish their inspection of Holland, the group drove via Naarden to Amersfoort, with beautiful old buildings and a relaxing atmosphere. While here they ventured to the Royal Palace and Gardens at Het Loo and visited three river crossing ships docked at Arnhem for staff training. They investigated cabins, enjoyed an excellent buffet lunch and stepped over a few CPR training dummies.

With the knowledge and experience they gained on the trip, our team can now even better customise our tours to give groups exactly the holiday they’re looking for.

It was almost worth the 6am flight out.
