Sights and Sounds of Stockport
When you think of the North West of England you probably think of Manchester, Liverpool or Chester. Recently, our Day Trips Manager, Jenny Kirkwood, and our B2B Sales Manager, Gina Halden, paid a visit to Stockport, an industrial town located very close to Manchester and to say they were bowled over is an understatement.
Stockport actually has so much to offer including tours of the Underground Air-raid Shelters, the Hat Works & Museum, afternoon tea at the art-deco style Plaza Theatre & Cinema, the impressive Market Hall, Robinsons Brewery and the recently restored Staircase House. All of these are within easy walking distance of each other and highlight the history of this ‘forgotten’ town.
It is ideal as a day trip and as a result of this visit, we have now included it as one of our new featured day trip tours entitled ‘From Ritz to Blitz’. We can highly recommended that a visit to Stockport is included in your future tour programmes and visits to the North West.
For further information please call and speak to either Jenny or Gina and they will be only too pleased to make arrangements for guided tours and visits.
