Summer Lunches with a Swing and a Jive
Summer Lunches have arrived!
Our Day Trip groups have fully embraced the spectacular weather this summer when they joined us for our June events North and South! In Maidstone and Bristol, we entertained groups “military style” with a rousing afternoon of 1940’s classics after a lovely three course lunch. From Bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B there was a lump in our throats as we remembered those who had been affected by the World War II conflict. We even had a veteran from the Normandy Landings amongst the guests, Thank you Norman from Longwell Green for joining us in Bristol.
As a contrast, we moved swiftly through the decades to the Swinging Sixties. Groups North and South were treated to favourite dance hits from the decade of flower power. Dance floors were busy rockin’ and rollin’ to Beatles, Beach Boys, Mungo Jerry and a whole spectrum of Sixties greats. Besides the 1940’s and Summer Sixties, it was “Yesterday Once More” because we debuted a Celebration of The Carpenters and Bacharac show for the enthusiasts amongst our groups.
Our next schedule of events is September. If you think you would enjoy a “Sunny Afternoon” “In the Summertime” on one of these excellent days out, just visit Entertainment Lunches to see what is coming up in your area. So, bring your bucket and spade and we will see you soon in a venue near you!
