The 3 C’s – Carlisle, Claire & Charlotte
As part of our ongoing commitment with hotel inspections, Claire from the Sales team and Charlotte from the UK Operations team took the opportunity to venture out of the office and visit Carlisle.
On Thursday 3rd March, arriving at Carlisle train station, they saw the unveiling of the Virgin Train The Cumbrian Spirit, in recognition of the courage of Cumbria.
With so much to see they started a walking tour of Carlisle to familiarise themselves with the city and the location of the hotels, with one hotel on the outskirts, the local bus was taken.
After seeing so many different bedrooms it was time to change direction and explore what Carlisle had to offer; with a castle, cathedral and museums it was decision time.
The Castle can be seen from across Tullie House Museum but with limited time could not be explored, with a quick look around the entrance and gardens of the museum they continued to the Cathedral.
Carlisle Cathedral has been a centre of prayer, mission and worship for nearly 900 years and is a place of discovery, celebration and beauty. It may not be the best known medieval Cathedral in England, but it delighted both Claire & Charlotte.
