Ship Information
Your basecamp at Sea
The 12 ships that sail the Norwegian coast vary in size and age but they all have one purpose: to bring you as close to nature and wildlife as possible. That way you will see and experience things you just won’t on cruise ships. These purpose-built vessels function as your basecamp at sea – comfortable accommodation with restaurants, bars, cafes and panorama lounges providing Hurtigruten’s intimate travel experience. The atmosphere on all vessels is relaxed, there is no dress code, the crew is very approachable and you’ll soon feel like part of the Hurtigruten family. For you to relax between all the adventures many ships have sun decks, Jacuzzis and saunas or if you want to train for that mountain hike you can use the fitness rooms. Dining is a special experience at Hurtigruten. The chefs put a lot of importance on sourcing fresh produce from local suppliers that they pick up on the way. Visiting 34 ports along Norway’s coast is a great culinary and environmental advantage and the chefs know most of their suppliers personally. This clearly enhances the travel experience and brings guests even closer to the locals as they hear their stories.
Activities take place both inside the vessels and on deck. Learn about the environment you’re sailing through in interesting lectures, demonstrations and presentations that vary from season to season making every voyage unique.
