Day 1
Travel to Leicestershire, Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre
Enjoy a relaxing journey to Leicestershire. In the afternoon we visit the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre.
Day 2
Leicester Walking Tour, King Richard III Visitor Centre and Leicester Botanical Gardens.
This morning, we meet our Blue Badge Tourist Guide for a 90-minute walking tour of Leicester’s historic city centre. We then visit the King Richard III Visitor Centre where the remarkable story of the search for the king is told. The centre is built over the actual location in the council car park where the remains were found. There’s free time to have lunch and explore the city centre.
In the afternoon, we visit the Leicester Botanical Gardens where you can see and learn about a wide range of plants that grow in the extensive collections from around the world. Founded in 1921 with the assistance of the Leicester Literary and Philosophical Society, the University of Leicester Botanic Garden was established on its present site in Oadby in 1947.
