In this ever-popular Bournemouth tour we combine visits to Bournemouth, Dorchester, Blandford Forum, Swanage, the villages of Corfe and Wareham. All of this, in addition to a boat cruise along the Jurassic Coast and a ride on the Swanage Railway!
In Bournemouth enjoy a boat cruise along the world famous Jurassic Coast to view Old Harry Rocks and Studland Bay, before exploring the pretty town and its sandy beaches. Enjoy the delights of Dorset and wander through the beautiful market town of Dorchester. Ride on the Swanage Railway and discover the lively seaside resort before returning to Bournemouth via the picturesque market town of Wareham.

Day 1
Travel to Bournemouth
Depending on time and where you are travelling from why not stop off on the journey and make your day more interesting. Speak to a member of the Greatdays team who will be happy to offer suggestions. On arrival at your hotel late afternoon you will have ample time to settle in before enjoying dinner.
Day 2
Dorset Coast Cruise and Bournemouth
This morning we enjoy a relaxing boat cruise from Bournemouth along part of the world famous Jurassic Coast. During the journey you’ll see the famous Old Harry Rocks and Studland Bay, as well as Brownsea Island with its castle and waterside village. Returning to Bournemouth, there’s free time to explore the town, the pier, the gardens and the seven miles of sandy beaches.
Day 3
Blandford, Dorchester and Athelhampton House
We head off into the Dorset countryside this morning, driving through Blandford Forum, the most complete, small Georgian town in England, rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1731. We arrive in the county town of Dorchester, a beautiful market town steeped in history and culture. In the afternoon we visit Althelhampton House, a 15th century manor house with stunning interiors and Grade I listed gardens.
Day 4
Steam train ride to Corfe Castle and Swanage
Today we travel to the Isle of Purbeck to join our steam-hauled train for a ride on the Swanage Railway. The seaside resort of Swanage is a popular holiday destination, retaining much of its original character. There’s also time to visit the delightful village of Corfe. Returning to Bournemouth we stop in Wareham, a picturesque market town where you can walk the Saxon walls and see the historic quay.
Day 5
Return home
Saying farewell to your hosts this morning start your homeward journey with various comfort stops enroute.
