Travel on the Thames Clipper to visit Greenwich, where hemispheres meet, and royal heritage mixes with art, architecture and maritime history.

Thames Clippers operate the fastest and most frequent fleet of boats on the River Thames, with departures from almost every major London pier – every 20 minutes. The river boat services stretch from Putney to Royal Arsenal Woolwich, and cater for everything from early morning commuters to weekend days out on the River Thames.

Having grown from a one-boat operation in 1999 to a fleet of 20 vessels, they now carry over 4 million passengers a year in a comfortable, relaxed environment.
Wherever you choose to sit you’ll get a great riverside view with plenty of space. Get comfortable in the leather seats towards the middle of the cabin, sink into a couch by the window or feel the wind in your hair out on deck. All boats are climate controlled so you’ll never be too cold in winter or too hot in summer.
There are toilets with accessible facilities on board most of the fleet and you can pick up a coffee and a snack from the licensed snack bar on board.

Greenwich is home to a World Heritage Site, Cutty Sark. Built in 1869 to carry tea back from China, Cutty Sark visited nearly every major port in the world and gained fame for its record-breaking passages. Delve into the adventures of this iconic ship and meet the colourful cast of characters on board the ship who tell their story of what life was like on board.

Day 1

Travel to London

Travel to London. Why not stop on route at Windsor if the route permits, and the chance to walk along the Thames, or maybe visit the Castle?

Alternatively, we have lots of suggestions for alternative visits and will be pleased to discuss these with you.

Check in to your hotel and the rest of the evening is at your leisure.

Dinner can be arranged in your hotel this evening if required – supplements on request.

Day 2

Thames Clippers and the Cutty Sark

Breakfast in your hotel.

Drive to Westminster Pier, where you will board the Thames Clipper service to Greenwich. Relax as you settle into the comfortable airline style seats as you journey down the Thames. The pace as far as Tower Bridge is sedate, with stops at a few Piers, then beyond the Bridge, the vessel opens up and the speed increases as you speed down the Thames. There is a bar on board serving refreshments and toilet facilities.

On arrival in Greenwich leave the Clipper, and it’s just a short walk to the Cutty Sark.

Built in 1869 to carry tea back from China, Cutty Sark visited nearly every major port in the world and gained fame for its record-breaking passages. Delve into the adventures of this iconic ship and meet the colourful cast of characters on board the ship who tell their story of what life was like on board.

Picture yourself as the ship’s captain, take the helm at the ship’s wheel and marvel at the towering masts and 11 miles of rigging. Learn about the ambitious conservation project and go inside and underneath an authentic piece of history. The ship has been raised over three metres allowing you to walking directly underneath and touch the original hull planks and iron framework.

Find out about the incredible work that has saved Cutty Sark for future generations

There is an optional 2-course lunch in Greenwich before leaving.
