Day 1
Fly to San Jose
Fly indirectly from your chosen UK airport to San Jose where you will be met and transferred to your hotel accommodation.
Day 2
Arenal Volcano National Park & Tabacon Hot Springs
Before the active period of 1968, a lavish canopy of vegetation covered the Arenal Volcano. People that climbed Arenal’ s summit related that inside the crater there were big trees and at night, they slept in places where there was some heat due to small steam outlets. Right now the green area is located at the east side of the Mountain, and other little green parts can be seen on the north and the south of the volcano. Enjoy the most extraordinary view of the Arenal Volcano on a gentle Hike along the base of this marvelous “Mountain of Fire”. The Hike begins in one the trails close to the volcano, this trail will take you through the forest over recent lava flows and the area destroyed in 1968 now in the process of regeneration. You are going to be on this trail for about 2 ½ hours.
In the afternoon you will continue to Tabacón Hot Springs which flow from the veins of the splendorous and active Arenal Volcano. Enjoy this natural wonder of Costa Rica and soothing feeling in any of the mineral pools and naturally warm waterfalls.
Day 3
Arenal Sky Walk
Sky Walk offers visitors yet another opportunity to get a perspective on the dynamic rainforest at a much slower pace; here you can enjoy two amazing waterfalls, and a stunning cantilever platform 30 meters high with spectacular views of the forest, volcano and lake. There are set guided tours available or visitors have the option of doing the Sky Walk without a guide and at any time during normal hours of operation. The climb is not strenuous or muddy, as the trails are well maintained. Enjoy Sky Walk it’s an unforgettable experience, the excitement of looking to one side and seeing the tops of the trees and at the same time feel the sensation of walking among the clouds. The principal objective is to offer a different observational perspective of tropical forest, as a new alternative in tourism for nature lovers.
Day 4
Manuel Antonio
Transfer to Manuel Antonio which is set high above the enchanting National Park, boasting amazing views of white sandy beaches, shimmering blue waters and the fresh ocean breeze. Afternoon at leisure and overnight in Manuel Antonio.
Day 5
Manuel Antonio National Park
Morning excursion to explore the National Park of Manuel Antonio. The natural trails in the park will take you to the interior of the forest to observe the variety of flora and fauna, including white faced capuchin, monkeys raccoons, species of rodents and birds. You will also have time to take a dip in the warm waters of the pacific! Afternoon at leisure.
Day 6
San Jose
After breakfast, leaving Manuel Antonio where transfer back to San Jose where you will have the remaining of the day at leisure to visit the capital or for some last minute shopping.
Day 7-8
Return back to the UK
Morning transfer to San Jose International Airport for your return flight back to the UK.
The best time to visit Costa Rica is from mid-December to April (the dry season). This peak tourist season boasts plenty of sunshine making it an ideal time for exploring rainforests and lounging on beaches. That said, the dry season is the most popular (and expensive) time to visit.
