Discovering Lincoln, the Red Arrows and the Dambusters
Here’s a tour packed full of history and nostalgia. We discover Lincoln’s rich heritage with visits to the castle and also the cathedral. Then its on to navigate the city’s waterways with a relaxing boat trip. We travel to RAF Scampton to hear about the famous Dambusters wartime raid and today’s RAF Red Arrows. Our final visit will be to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre.

Day in Lincoln and boat trip
We start our tour with a full day in the historic city of Lincoln. There are opportunities to visit Lincoln Cathedral, a fine example of English Gothic architecture, and the 11th century Lincoln Castle. In the afternoon we take a relaxing one-hour cruise on Lincoln’s waterways on the ‘Brayford Belle’. An entertaining commentary will tell you all about the city’s past and present.
Day 3
RAF Scampton Heritage Centre and Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre
RAF Scampton is home to the Red Arrows and the base of 617 Squadron, the ‘Dambusters’. We visit the Heritage Centre that tells the remarkable story of Squadron Leader Guy Gibson. There’s also an opportunity to sit in a replica Red Arrows Hawk aircraft. In the afternoon we travel to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Museum, home to one of only three remaining Avro Lancaster bombers.

Additional attraction – International Bomber Command Centre, Lincoln
Located immediately to the south of Lincoln city centre, is the International Bomber Command Centre. The centre commemorates the bravery of the 25,611 Bomber Command aircrew who lost their lives flying from Lincolnshire and adjacent airfields.
