Washington DC has a myriad of sights worth seeing. The seat of the US government, DC is an internationally recognised symbol of democracy. See where laws are made at the US Capitol and perhaps remember the country’s great and influential presidents by visiting memorials. The memorial for Roosevelt, the 32nd President, is particularly charming. Day 1
Welcome to the USA
Arrive in Washington D.C. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing or beginning to explore the US capital city.

Day 2
Washington D.C.
Spend the day in Washington D.C. and explore one of the city’s many fascinating museums. Choose between the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of American History, the National Gallery of Art of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. After lunch in the city, enjoy a guided tour of some of the United States’ most iconic buildings, including the White House, the Supreme Court and the Capitol. Then visit the broad Mall to see monuments to several U.S. presidents. Enjoy dinner in your hotel.
Day 3
Annapolis and Philadelphia
Drive to Annapolis, one of the oldest cities in the country. Enjoy a tour of this history-rich city during which you will see the Maryland State House, Saint John’s College and Saint Anne’s Church. Enjoy lunch before departing for Philadelphia. Visit the Hall of Independence, where both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were signed. View the Liberty Bell – one of the most evocative symbols of the USA.
Day 4
New York City: Manhattan and Brooklyn
Transfer to New York City after breakfast. Discover Times Square and its immense illuminated billboards on a guided tour of Manhattan. Go down 5th Avenue to view Saint Patrick’s Cathedral – a neo-gothic beauty sandwiched between glittering glass skyscrapers. See also the imposing Rockefeller Center, the Flatiron Building, and Grand Central Station, before continuing to Wall Street and the Financial District. Then see Greenwich Village’s tree-lined streets, Soho and Chinatown. Eat a delicious lunch in Chinatown before crossing the East River into Brooklyn. Glimpse this neighbourhood’s historic brownstones, Prospect Park and Park Slope. Enjoy some free time in this fabulous city.
Day 5
New York City: Statue of Liberty
Begin your day with a ferry journey to visit of the iconic Statue of Liberty and the fascinating Ellis Island. After lunch, admire the city from the observation deck on 86th floor of the Empire State Building. Enjoy some free time before a typical dinner in Times Square.
Day 6
New York City: Harlem
Discover Harlem with its unique Afro-American spirit and history. Attend a Gospel mass with its glorious music, and then see the impressive Saint John the Divine Cathedral and Apollo Theatre. Enjoy a soul food brunch before transferring to Boston where you will have a delightful dinner with your group.
Day 7
Boston
Start today with a guided tour of Boston: New England’s most famous city offers typical British charm and evocative colonial sites. After lunch, take a walking tour along the Freedom Trail. This will enable you to discover sixteen historical sites of Boston, many dating back to colonial times and the Revolutionary War era. Significant sites include the Boston Common, Beacon Hill, the Massachusetts State House, and the King’s Chapel and burying ground.
Day 8 - 9
Departure
Enjoy some free time in Boston before transferring to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK.
There’s a certain charm to each season in this area of the USA, and no particular time to avoid. It’s up to you whether you fancy balmy sunshine in the spring, autumn’s colours or if you’re hoping to see New York in the snow. For the best balance of sunshine without humidity and crowds, perhaps try April or May.
Tipping guides and drivers $3-4 per person per day is usual and expected. This price will be added to your tour.
