Get a taste for Catalonia with this sensational gastronomic tour

Catalonian cooking has incredible character. Its innovative cooking has sought inspiration from many different cultures as has Catalonia in general. Although ultimately Mediterranean, the Greeks, Romans, the Italians in the eighteenth century and the French have all left their mark on this complex cuisine. Catalonia has absorbed the best of each country and created a culinary package which forms Gourmet Catalonia.

The Catalonian cuisine uses the same ingredients as in many other Mediterranean regions: tomatoes, garlic, fresh herbs, olive oil. Gourmet Catalonia is sometimes reminded of dishes from such areas as Provence, Rosellon, Sardinia, Naples or Sicily: cities which invaded the Kingdom of Aragon of which modern Catalonia formed part of. During this food tour, you will have the opportunity to learn about the process of making wine, olive oil and even cheese. Enjoy a visit to a local winery, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and taste the produce. Furthermore, you can take part and stomp the grapes yourself! Visit a sheep farm and make your own sheep cheese! This interactive and engaging experience gives you the satisfaction of tasting cheese you made yourself – perhaps share with loved ones on your return home!

Then, discover the incredible Cap de Creus Nature Reserve and the Sant Pere de Rodes monastery at its core. While in these picturesque surroundings, enjoy some tapas and special wines, giving a taste of the past. This tour is food galore, with local produce at every turn. Enjoy tapas in Barcelona and feast your eyes on the marvels of this iconic city.
