Day 1
Stockport and the Brewery
Travel to Stockport and get ready for an interesting afternoon. First we visit the Staircase House to discover how our ancestors lived from the 15th to 20th centuries. At Robinsons Brewery they have been brewing beer since 1838. On the tour learn about the science and technical information behind the brewing process, with a taste of some of their award winning ales to finish. We then travel to our hotel for dinner.
Day 2
Manchester
After a leisurely breakfast we go to meet our guide at Hilton Deansgate and enjoy a coffee and pastry whilst enjoying the panoramic views from hotel bar, Cloud 23. From here we embark upon a three hour walking tour starting at MOSI, Manchester’s famous Museum of Science and Industry. Other highlights on the tour include Central Library, the secret church, Manchester Cathedral and National Football Museum. We finish the afternoon with an early dinner at The Albert Square Chop House, a traditional pub and restaurant located in the iconic Memorial Hall.
Day 3
Manchester United and Salford Quays
This morning we ‘kick-off’ our day at Old Trafford. The Manchester United ‘Museum & Tour’ gives you a unique opportunity to discover the story of the club, and see inside the spectacular stadium and museum. Next there is time to relax on a one-hour river cruise along the Manchester Ship Canal. We then call into the BBC’s new home in MediaCityUK where we go behind the scenes of shows such as Blue Peter and Mastermind. Their well-informed guides will give us a fascinating insight into how TV and radio work. There is then free time to explore the Quays and its varied attractions including the Lowry Gallery and Imperial War Museum.
