New World Wines Extension: Toronto and Niagara
Extend your wine tour and fly to Toronto. Visit the vineyards and wineries of the Niagara Peninsula, the largest and most productive viticultural area in Canada. Renowned for its Ice Wine, this region is blessed with mineral-rich soils and a moderate microclimate. Relatively unknown worldwide, some of the world’s finest wines are produced here. Rieslings, Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs and Cabernet Francs – Canada is still relatively niche player but with the ever increasing number of award winning wines produced here, it’s no surprise that Canada is beginning to make a name for itself in the world of wine production.
Day 12
Toronto
Fly to Toronto Airport where you will be met by a local guide. En route to the hotel pass by some of the main highlights Toronto has to offer including City Hall, Queens Quay, Yorkville Village, the Harbour Front and the CN Tower.
Day 13
Toronto – Niagara Falls
Travel to the wine producing region of the Niagara Peninsula. Located in the heart of the northern wine-growing belt, this region has a unique micro-climate and some of the most mineral–rich soil in the world. The first stop today will be at the Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery for a tasting and tour. This 220 acre estate concentrates on vinifying the finest varietal wines in the region including Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling Ice Wine. Next, visit the award-winning Chateau Des Charmes Winery for a video presentation, tasting and tour. This family-owned vineyard produces Ice Wine, late harvest Rieslings and a wide range of red and white varietals. Many of these wines have been recognized as the benchmarks in the Ontario wine-industry.
Day 14
Niagara Falls – Toronto
Begin today with an exciting ride on the Maid of the Mist around the base of the Falls and a sightseeing tour of Niagara Falls. The first winery tour and tasting today is at the Reif Estate Winery in picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. This 135 acre winery boasts a large selection of varietals and rare wines as well as an award-winning ice wine. Next is a stop at the Strewn Winery, another award-wining winery that produces wines using grapes exclusively from the Niagara Region. Here enjoy a wine-tasting tour and savour the extraordinary flavours of their Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. This winery also houses the Wine Country Cooking School bringing together the best the Niagara region has to offer. Continue to Toronto.

After breakfast, you will have the morning at leisure before being transferred to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
