Bloomin’ Marvellous – RHS Bridgewater
RHS Bridgewater was once home to Worsley New Hall, a Victorian Mansion surrounded by formal gardens and Woodlands. The Hall became a Red Cross Hospital during the First World war , and then sadly fell into decline. The RHS took over in 2017 and the transformed the site into a world-class garden and a local community champion. We also visit hidden Salford gem, Ordsall Hall, for a guided tour and refreshments.

Ordsall Hall and travel home
On your way home, you will visit Ordsall Hall. The hall has a long and interesting history with many different uses since it was first mentioned in records in 1177! You may also meet a spooky inhabitant or two!
There is so much to do and discover! Dress up as a Tudor, try on some chainmail, discover some of the foods that would have been cooked at the Hall in the 1500s, pretend you are having a feast around the table in the Great Hall, find out about the Pre-Raphaelite artist who lived there, listen to the story of the 450 year old Radclyffe bed, visit the allotment and herb garden, explore the sculptures in the gardens and much, much more.
Pick up a souvenir of your visit in the shop and treat yourself to some well deserved cake and coffee after you have toured the Hall.
Greatdays offer a selection of quality hotels in Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
