Sicily’s location on the edge of Europe led to it being a hot spot for invaders, the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans and Normans; all left their mark on the west coast of Sicily, creating one of the most culturally diverse landscapes in Europe. 18th century entrepreneurs, from England, were also lured here, in a bid to make their wealth from the world famous Marsala wines. Moreover, there are range diverse experiences waiting to be discovered. From the hilltop vineyards to the coastal salt planes, the diversity of this rugged landscape makes for a superb tour of a beautiful country.

Day 1
Travel to Sicily
Fly from your local airport to Palermo. Upon arrival, you will be met then transferred to your hotel.
Day 2
Palermo to Monreale
After breakfast, spend some time exploring the capital of Sicily; Palermo. Enjoy a guided tour of one of the ancient city. Goethe once described this city as the loveliest he had ever seen. We will visit the wonderful Arab-Norman Cathedral, the astonishing Martorana Church and the amazing Cappella Palatina. There is also a chance to stop for a food surprise in the famous Antica Focacceria San Francesco. Later, proceed to Monreale to visit its huge Norman Cathedral, proclaimed the Eighth Wonder of the World, and its splendid Cloister in Arab-Norman style.
Day 3
Selinunte, Marsala and Trapani
This morning, depart for Selinunte to visit the largest Archaeological Park in whole of the Mediterranean and a World Heritage Site, surrounded by a splendid landscape near the African Sea, discover the rest of the ancient Greek city. Afterwards, continue along the charming and well-known Salt Road from Trapani to Marsal. The west coast of Sicily is known for its many salt marshes, which have given rise to one of the oldest salt-extracting industries in the world. Afterwards enjoy some tasting of the famous wine in Marsala.
Day 4
Day at leisure
Today, enjoy a day at leisure. Perhaps, head into Palermo to discover more of the city’s cultural gems.
Day 5
Agrigento & the Valley of the Temples
Enjoy a day excursion to Agrigento to visit of the Valley of the Temples a wonderful World Heritage Site. Once, one of the most prosperous of the ancient Greek cities on the island, Agrigento presents a remarkable series of Doric Temples from the 5th century. You will see the “Temple of Hera”, the “Temple of Concordia” and the “Temple of Heracles”. These outstanding examples of Greater Greece art and architecture, are but one of the main attractions of Sicily.
Day 6
Cefalù
Today we visit Cefalù, a charming medieval town situated at the northern coast of Sicily. We will visit its stunning Norman Dome and you will have free time to stroll through the town before returning to Palermo.
Day 7
Palermo
Enjoy your final day in Palermo; why not head to the north side of the city for a day at the Mondello beach.
Day 8
Return to the UK
Transfer to the airport for the flight back to the UK.
