Explore the medieval city of Winchester, with over 1000 years of history, and relax amongst the gardens of Mottisfont Abbey.

Day 1
Travel to your hotel

Day 2
Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge
Today we take the UNESCO World Heritage route, starting with a visit to Salisbury Cathedral, Britain’s finest 13th century Gothic cathedral. We take a private guided tour to find out more about 750 years of history, Britain’s tallest spire, some magnificent cloisters, and the world’s best preserved Magna Carta. After lunch we head to one of the most famous visitor attractions in the world, Stonehenge. Your visit starts at the new visitor centre where an exhibition sets the scene and reveals many of the secrets of the stones. You then board a bus which takes you the mile or so to the stone circle. After time at the stones, you return to the visitor centre where there’s time to buy a souvenir or two.
Day 3
Winchester Cathedral, The Great Hall and Mottisfont Abbey
This morning, we head for Mottisfont Abbey, and some calm relaxation among the gardens and ancient stones of this rural estate.
Stroll around the Gothic remains of the original 13th century Augustinian priory, visit the historic house and the glorious gardens.
After some free time for lunch, this afternoon we head to Winchester, a culturally rich medieval city with a number of world-class attractions. Visit Winchester Cathedral and discover more than 1,000 years of history, including the beautiful illuminated Winchester Bible, 12th-century wall paintings, medieval carvings, and the burial place of Jane Austen. In The Great Hall don’t miss the greatest symbol of medieval mythology, King Arthur’s Round Table.
