This cruise will start and finish in the French city of Strasbourg from where you will see spectacular vine-clad slopes, ancient castles, picturesque towns and villages and unmissable cities which will combine to offer memorable experiences along three of Germany’s main rivers – the Rhine, the Moselle and the Main.
Highlights of the cruise offer optional excursions to Frankfurt (Main), Cochem (Moselle), Koblenz (Moselle & Rhine) and Rüdesheim (Rhine).

Suggested Itinerary
Day 1
Depart the UK
Travel to Dover and take the ferry across to Calais. Continue to the Reims area for an overnight stop. Dinner is included at the hotel this evening.
Day 2
Travel to Strasbourg
Depart after breakfast and continue the journey through France and on to Strasbourg in time for embarkation from 18.00 hours. There will be a welcome cocktail before dinner. The ship will sail through the night towards Frankfurt.
Day 3
Strasbourg – Frankfurt
Today you can join an optional guided tour of Frankfurt where you will visit the Cathedral, the Old Town and Römerberg Square, with the option to ascend the Main Tower, a high-rise building with a façade made entirely of glass which was built for the first time in Europe. Access is by one of the 26 passenger lifts and there are viewing platforms on the 55th and 56th floors together with a restaurant.
Tonight, there will be evening entertainment whilst the cruise continues overnight to Cochem.
Day 4
Frankfurt – Cochem
Relax and enjoy the on-board facilities and see the unfolding scenery as the boat cruises along the Main and Rhine rivers towards Cochem on the Moselle. This afternoon you can join an optional guided tour of Reichsburg Castle in Cochem or explore the town at leisure.
The Imperial Castle in Cochem is more than just a castle! The old walls and imposing battlements tower majestically over the Moselle River valley on a mighty crag and is the largest castle on the river. The castle was heavily damaged during a war of succession but has now been lovingly restored. Discover the impressive interiors of rooms such as the Knight’s Hall, the Dining Hall, the Trophy Room and the Bower.
The medieval town of Cochem enjoys a wonderful setting in one of the most romantic parts of the Moselle Valley surrounded by vineyards. Explore the old town, relax and enjoy a drink in one of the many bars and cafes or stroll around the many shops hunting for souvenirs!
Enjoy a relaxing evening and dinner on board.
Day 5
Cochem – Koblenz
Another relaxing morning whilst the ship sails along the Moselle towards Koblenz passing pretty towns and villages overlooked by stunning castles. As we reach Koblenz, which is where the Moselle river meets up the Rhine at the Deutches Eck point, there will be the opportunity to explore Koblenz, one of Germany’s oldest and most beautiful towns with your on-board hostess. See the monumental equestrian statue of Kaiser Wilhelm looking out over the two rivers as you stroll around the romantic alleyways of the historic old town or, if time allows, take a cable car ride up and across the Rhine to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress (cost not included).
Return to the ship for dinner and an evening at leisure.
Day 6
Koblenz – Rüdesheim*
Our cruise continues along the Rhine to this morning. Look out for the legendary Loreley Rock in the middle of the river famed for the beautiful and melancholy siren whose song enchanted passing sailors. Once in Rüdesheim there will be the opportunity to join an optional excursion by tourist train stopping at a local wine cellar for a visit and tasting, followed by a visit to Siegfried’s Museum of Mechanical Musical Instruments. The rest of the day can be at leisure to explore the town and maybe take a stroll along the famous Drosselgasse with its abundance of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Enjoy a relaxing evening and dinner on board.
*Dependent on availability of moorings the Rüdesheim stopover may be replaced by a stopover in Bingen and excursions will be adjusted accordingly.
Day 7
Rüdesheim* – Mannheim
This morning the ship will cruise to Mannheim. From here there will be an optional excursion by coach to Heidelberg for a guided tour of the city and the stunning old town and an exterior visit of the historic castle ruins which dominates the city and the River Neckar. The city offers a huge variety of historic buildings, impressive memorials and elaborate fountains and the skyline is dominated by church spires that tower above the houses.
Tonight is our Gala Dinner as the ship sails towards Strasbourg.
*Dependent on availability of moorings the Rüdesheim stopover may be replaced by a stopover in Bingen
Day 8
Disembark in Strasbourg
After breakfast disembark from the ship in Strasbourg and drive north towards the Reims area for an overnight stay. Dinner is included at the hotel.
Day 9
Return to the UK
Depart after breakfast and continue the journey home, taking the ferry from Calais to Dover.
MS Monet (or similar standard ship)
Named after one of the most famous impressionist artists, Claude Monet, this elegant ship sails on the Rhine and the Danube. Cruise passengers will discover the many wonders of both romantic rivers. MS Monet is an intimate-sized standard ship, measuring 110m long and 11.40m wide. It can accommodate 158 passengers, in 78 cabins spread over two decks. Single occupancy cabins can be requested subject to availability. The size of a cabin is 11.50m2 (10m2 for the single cabins), offering amenities and providing guest with all the comforts they need during their stay.
The decoration is refined and thew atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming, in perfect harmony with its environment. The restaurant, located on the upper deck, offers fine cuisine in a refined setting. Large windows allow you to fully enjoy the panorama. On the same level there is also the lounge / bar with a dance floor. The sun deck is an ideal place to relax and admire the riverside landscapes and there are comfortable sun loungers as well as a large shaded area.
Cabin information/facilities (CroisiEurope)
All cabins are located above the water level and offer panoramic views of the landscape. They are equipped with private toilet, shower, washbasin and towels. Cabins are comfortable and include Satellite TV, hairdryer, safe and storage space. Depending on the ship, cabins have twin beds, a large bed or 2 separable beds. Voltage on board is 220V. All cabins are air conditioned and have independent thermostat controlled heating and air conditioning. The size and configuration of cabins vary from ship to ship. Some have cabins which are specifically equipped for people with reduced mobility (please ask for further details). There is free Wi-Fi throughout the ship.
