Valencia and the Orange Blossom Coast – by Air
Spain is well known for its costas, the sandy strands that attract thousands of visitors seeking sun and sangria every year. But most people tend to head to the big hitters: the Costa del Sol, the Costa Brava and the Costa Blanca. One of Spain’s unsung beachy stretches is the Costa del Azahar, or Orange Blossom Coast. Nearby to this wonderful relatively un-explored and untouched coasts is Spain’s third largest city; Valencia. Whilst Madrid and Barcelona grab most of the headlines, Valencia is a wonderfully liveable city with thriving cultural, eating and nightlife scenes. Gracing the city are many contemporary buildings, including the stunning futuristic buildings of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, located on the former riverbed that was inventively converted into a glorious green park winding through the heart of city. As well as this, Valencia is home to some great museums, a long stretch of beach and a characterful old quarter. Valencia also has a magnificent dining scene and proudly claims to be the home of paella.
