Winter Gardens of Cheshire
Enjoy the winter garden wonderland's of Cheshire
This winter, enjoy a trip to Cheshire to see the gardens of Dunham Massey, RHS Bridgewater and Ordsall Hall. See the stunning snowdrops at Dunham Massey and explore the Weston Walled Garden at RHS Bridgewater.
Discover the delights of Britain’s largest winter garden at Dunham Massey, where the white carpet will be rolled out for visitors during snowdrop season. The garden contains almost 700 different plant species and a further 1,600 shrubs specifically bred for the seven-acre wonder.
RHS Bridgewater was once home to Worsley New Hall, a Victorian Mansion surrounded by formal gardens and Woodlands. The Hall became a Red Cross Hospital during the First World war , and then sadly fell into decline. The RHS took over in 2017 and transformed the site into a world-class garden.
Ordsall Hall, located in Salford has had a long and interesting history with many different uses since it was first mentioned in records in 1177! Today, it is a welcoming and friendly historic house telling the story of the Hall and some of the people who made it their home. As well as this, Ordsall Hall is an RHS Training Centre and is managed by Garden Organic guidelines to benefit wildlife and people. The site is proud to grow Heritage Seeds, conserving endangered heritage varieties of vegetables and plants.
