Day 1
Travel to your hotel
If you have time on route why not visit the engineering masterpiece that is the Falkirk Wheel. You will take a boat from the basin, and sail into the bottom gondola of the wheel, which gently lifts the boat up to join the Union Canal 35m above (Falkirk Wheel available at a supplement of £10.00 per person). Later arrive at The Salutation Hotel in Perth in time to settle in before dinner. After dinner, be entertained by the resident accordion player as you relax into your surroundings.
Day 2
Stirling Castle and Scone Palace
Our first visit today is to Stirling Castle. We take a guided tour of the castle before viewing the refurbished rooms of the Royal Palace that reveal how it might have looked when it was the childhood home of Mary Queen of Scots, and we’re transported into the rich world of Scotland’s royalty in the 1500s. Scone Palace, near Perth, is the seat of parliaments and the crowning place of the Kings of Scots.
Return to your hotel for your Taste of Scotland dinner where you will be welcomed with a wee dram and piper. Please note there is no ‘Address to the Haggis‘. After dinner enjoy a night of live Scottish music and song!
